The Chapin Police Department is partnering with the Greater Chapin Chamber by hosting the Civilian and Business Response to Active Shooter Events Training, which aims to educate civilians and businesses on recognizing and responding to active shooter situations using the principles of “Avoid, Deny, Defend.” Participants learn to prioritize avoiding the threat, denying access to their location, and defending themselves if necessary. Throughout this training those in attendance will be given examples of evacuation procedures, barricading techniques, and basic self-defense strategies.
The Greater Chapin Business Watch is designed to foster collaboration between local businesses and law enforcement, enabling us to work together in preventing crime, sharing vital information, and promoting a safer business environment.
